North Haven is a beautiful island located in Penobscot Bay - about 12 miles off the mid-coast city of Rockland, Maine. You can reach us by traveling on the ferry "Neal Burgess" across Penobscot Bay, where you are liable to catch sight of seal, porpoise, loon and other marine life, then on through the Fox Islands Thorofare until you reach the town of North Haven.  Once there, it will be like taking a step back in time!

Our close knit community consists of approximately 350 year round residents which grows to over 2000 in the summer months.
Bicyclists travel the island's 25 miles of roads to enjoy the incredible vistas while kayakers paddle along the rocky shores exploring the inlets and harbors. Pulpit Harbor is a favorite overnight stop and safe haven for schooners and sailboats cruising through the area.

Welcoming you into the harbor is Pulpit Rock which serves as home to a huge osprey nest standing sentry in the mouth of the harbor.
Mullens Head Park, located on the eastern end of the island, is enjoyed by hikers, swimmers and picnic goers as well as being a center of activity for local games, concerts and barbecues.

The islands isolation, pristine views, abundant wildflowers and birdlife, gently cruising sailboats and schooners winding their way around bustling lobsterboats working the waterfront are just some of the sights that serve as an inspiration to many an artisan as well as providing a Mecca for an affluent summer population.
